Customer Profile: Steve Thomas
A Roswell Bike customer since 1995, Steve Thomas has purchased almost every type of bike we have to offer, from road, mountain and triathlon. Steve’s cycling adventures has taken him across numerous states, as well as, internationally. He’s completed 6 Ironman Triathlon’s, raced at the ITU Age Group World Championships and he’s a 2x finisher at the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike race in Colorado. Recently Steve competed and finished the Schwalbe Transalps event, which is the world’s largest amateur stage race starting in Germany, ending in Italy. During the seven days of this challenge, riders from many nations traverse over 21 mountain passes, climb over 63,000 ft while covering 550 miles. By far, this event was the most challenging for Steve, yet he said the views and friendships were worth the pain and suffering!
Steve has also been an active supporter of Bike Roswell, having served on the board to help promote safe cycling within the city of Roswell and state of GA. He’s helped promote the annual Mayor’s Ride, lent assistance to the Roswell Cycling Festival, supported the GA 400 ride, and when he’s out riding these events talking to other cyclists – his wife Denise (another avid cyclist) volunteers her time to ensure cyclists are checked in prior to the events or she’s manning a rest stop.
You can find Steve riding his bike at Roswell Bike’s Monday recovery ride, Thursday night Chattahoochee ride in the summer or see him riding his road or mountain bike up in Dahlonega. Steve’s next challenge is to get Todd Kaib riding so they can enter the Yellowstone Bike tour in Sept. 2016
There are a lot of options out there to buy bikes, parts and accessories. But remember this, do the online guys or big box retailers show up and tune your bike at the local century ride? Do they support your local race teams or spend hours doing trail maintenance? Nope, these guys don't give back to the local cycling community at all. Shop local. You will be glad you did.

Besides doing our very best to give our customers the ultimate experience in purchasing their bicycles, we also give them our very best service and support after the sale. We've been recognized as "Best In Atlanta" numerous times.
However, we don’t believe we’ve become one of the largest bike shops in the country just by selling bicycles. We love our customers and we support them as well. We believe in cycling advocacy by being one of the most community involved bike shops in the country. You will find us out every weekend supporting events with free on-site mechanics, ride sweepers and friendly advice. We are deeply involved with RAMBO and Bike Roswell! and actively participate in the Roswell Cycling Festival, annual Ride To The Capital and Hospitality Highway 400.

Sunday Shop Ride
This ride is for experienced cyclists, not recommended for beginners because of the hills and the 18+ mpg avg. During the winter season this is a fairly relaxed ride so, come and try it out. It's a great route! However in the summer season this is a drop ride, although there are a couple of regroup points and a store stop. Click Here for all of the details.
Sunday Beginner Ride
This ride is intended to create a relaxed, low stressed environment for learning proper road etiquette, safety, and the pleasure of riding in a group. We plan on pacing between 13-15mph for a duration of 15 miles total. This is a no drop ride (we will not leave anyone behind). We will wait at most stop signs for everyone to regroup. This will not be a strenuous route; ideal for someone starting off, looking to learn to ride in a group, or a chill winter ride. Click Here for more details.
Monday Evening Ride
This is a great No-Drop ride with a ride leader and ride sweeper. It's a great ride for a Monday--not too slow but not too strenuous either. Click Here to get more details.
The Sunday Morning Shop Ride is one of my favorites. They leave from the shop at 9:00am sharp. It's a great 43-mile loop with plenty of beautiful back roads rambling through North Fulton and Cherokee counties. The pace is quick, anywhere from 18 -22 depending on the time of the season and who shows up. The start /finish is in the bike shop parking lot, I recommend you park next door at Andrettis. Remember, wheels down at 9!
